DONAGHMORE

garden room

29   /   07   /   2017

The brief was to design a space to be used as a place to relax, to work and to work out. The plan was divided into three blocks, each containing a single activity. The block were connected by a glazed link allowing light deep into the plan.

The blocks stepped into the garden, providing an outside dining and barbecue area at its entrance. Built using brick the solid blocks are perforated to providing both privacy and light into the space.

The position of the garden room meant the building acted as a threshold between the house and an enclosed garden to the rear with a river flowing along its adjacent boundary.

This project is currently at the early design stage.
